Our Mission

We are an organisation in Wickford that gets involved in our neighborhood. Volunteers from all walks of life have come together to ensure we finally have a fitting war memorial, that other memorials in our area are maintained, to help teach about the sacrifices of the past.

The main goal of Wickford War Memorial Association originally was to finally get the town a memorial it could be proud of and that was in keeping with sacrifces it represents. Since we achieved that aim in 2011 we have diversified into working with other organisations to make improvements to the War Memorial Park to further the enjoyment of visitors and to educate about our proud heritage. We hope that an increased sense of community will lead to more personal involvement and more cultural, educational and social activities, which will create a better community and a better place for us to live.

Supporters

We have supporters from all walks of life who share our vision of remembering the past looking to the future, educating and improving as well as maintaining our memorials and the memories of those lost. Its free to become a member and we send out quarterly emailed newsletters, if you would like to be kept abreast or have ideas or would like to help just email us!

Committees
Our small committees focus on organisational, fundraising and financial areas within the Wickford War Memorial Association. We are always looking as well to further our research and knowledge of those commemorated here and have a focus to track down the families of those recorded on the memorial.
